Quasi Quartet è nato nel 2020 dall’incontro della violinista belga Margot Gillet con la violista Coline Meulemans e il violoncellista valenciano Marc Martin Nogueroles, formatisi presso il Conservatoire Royale de Bruxelles, dove nel 2021 hanno concluso il percorso di studi accademici nei rispettivi ambiti strumentali. Nel 2022 l’ensemble si è perfezionato al Corso di Quartetto d’archi e musica da camera per pianoforte e archi tenuto all’Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena da Clive Greensmith e nel quadro del Chigiana International Festival & Summer Academy ha partecipato al 28° Festival del Quartetto d’archi di Loro Ciuffenna. A settembre 2022 Quasi Quartet ha partecipato alla 7^a edizione del festival internazionale di musica classica Max festival. Pochi mesi più tardi l’ensemble si è trasformato in “Quatuor Satellite” accogliendo nella compagine la violinista francese Cleo Dahan. Di recente si sono esibiti al teatro Bozar di Bruxelles collaborando con il festival di musica contemporanea Ars Musica di Bruxelles, membro con l’Accademia Chigiana del network di festival europei di musica contemporanea F.A.C.E. Nella prossima stagione l’ensemble parteciperà al Klarafestival di Bruxelles.

L’Alameda String Quartet nasce nel 2020 a Los Angeles, in California.
I violinisti Gallia Kastner e Adam Millstein, la violista Cassia Drake e il violoncellista Nathan Mo si sono alla Colburn School di Los Angeles. Una delle caratteristiche dell’Alameda String Quartet è la ricerca e la programmazione di repertorio poco frequentato e per questo ha collaborato per l’iniziativa Ziering-Conlon Initiative for Recovered Voices, promossa dalla Colburn School. Lo scopo di tale iniziativa è quella di promuovere ed eseguire musica di compositori rimasti vittime del regime nazifascista dal 1933 al 1945. A questo proposito il quartetto ha eseguito e inciso la musica da camera di Erwin Schulhoff e Mieczsław Weinberg. Oltre ad essere musicisti passionati di musica da camera, i membri dell’Alameda String Quartet si esibiscono in tutto il mondo con numerose orchestre e ensemble strumentali. Hanno collaborato con artisti quali Clive Greensmith, Martin Beaver e James Conlon. Nella prossima stagione si esibiranno al Nevada Chamber Music Festival, Broad Stage e a Siena, in Italia, nel quadro del Chigiana International Festival & Summer Academy.

The Quasi Quartet was born in 2020 from the meeting of the Belgian violinist Margot Gillet with the violist Coline Meulemans and the Valencian cellist Marc Martin Nogueroles. They trained at the Conservatoire Royale de Bruxelles, finishing their academic studies in their respective instrumental fields in 2021. In 2022, the ensemble attended the String Quartet and Chamber Music advanced-level course held by Clive Greensmith at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. Within the framework of the Chigiana International Festival & Summer Academy they participated in the 28th Loro Ciuffenna String Quartet Festival. In September 2022, the Quasi Quartet participated in the 7th edition of the international classical music festival Max festival. A few months later the ensemble transformed into the “Quatuor Satellite” upon welcoming the addition French violinist Cleo Dahan. They recently performed at the Bozar theater in Brussels collaborating with the Ars Musica contemporary music festival in Brussels, a member of the network of European contemporary music festivals F.A.C.E. along with the Accademia Chigiana. In the next season the ensemble will participate in the Klarafestival in Brussels.

One of the characteristics of the Alameda String Quartet is the research and programming of seldom played repertoire and for this reason it has collaborated for the Ziering-Conlon Initiative for Recovered Voices, promoted by the Colburn School. The purpose of this initiative is to promote and perform music by composers who fell victim to the Nazi-fascist regime from 1933 to 1945. In this regard, the quartet has performed and recorded chamber music by Erwin Schulhoff and Mieczsław Weinberg. In addition to being passionate chamber musicians, the members of the Alameda String Quartet perform all over the world with numerous orchestras and instrumental ensembles. They have collaborated with artists such as Clive Greensmith, Martin Beaver and James Conlon.
